HR AI Tools: 81 Tools for HR Teams
Every HR document, policy, and checklist your team needs, drafted by AI in seconds. Across 10 categories covering hiring, compliance, employee management, policy, communication, strategy, compensation, employer brand, and learning.
Updated August 2026. This is the live inventory of one product, not a roundup of other vendors. See how the list is counted. If your job today is comparing products across vendors, that is a different question and we answer it separately in the 12 best HR AI tools, ranked by use case.
Start From the Task, Not the Tool List
Almost nobody arrives at a page like this wanting 81 of anything. You have one job in front of you and a deadline on it. Find the task, then the tool that drafts it.
- A role to fill. Job Description Generator, Interview Question Builder, Candidate Scorecard Builder, Offer Letter Writer. The job description generator is free and needs no signup, which is the cheapest way to judge the output quality before you pay for anything. The full walk-through is in the 13 hiring tools mapped to a real hiring cycle.
- A policy to write or update. Company Policy Generator, Remote and Hybrid Work Policy Generator, Employee Handbook Section Writer, Policy Change Communication. You supply the current policy, the jurisdiction, and who signs off. What comes back is a draft with the decision points marked, not a finished policy.
- A hard conversation coming. Difficult Conversation Coach, PIP Builder, Termination Documentation Helper, Separation Checklist Generator. These prepare you and paper the file. The call itself is yours.
- A review cycle starting. Performance Review Generator, 360 Feedback Framework, 1:1 Agenda Builder, Probationary Review Template.
- A pay question you cannot answer off the top of your head. Compensation Benchmarker, Salary Band Builder, Pay Equity Analyzer, Total Rewards Statement.
- Employees asking the same question for the tenth time this month. Answers come from the company material your team approved, with escalation to a person when the workspace is not confident. That sits on the grounded knowledge side of the product rather than being one tool on this list. The AI for HR guide covers why answers have to come from your own documents.
Hiring & Recruitment
Generate everything you need for each open role in minutes. From the job posting to the offer letter, AI handles the writing so you can focus on evaluating candidates.
Compliance & Legal
The largest category for good reason. Compliance is where small businesses face the most risk and have the least expertise. These tools cover US, Canada, and UK employment law. Learn more about Compliance Autopilot.
Employee Management
From performance reviews to employee surveys, these tools generate the documents and frameworks managers need for effective people management.
Compensation & Total Rewards
Build competitive compensation packages and communicate total rewards effectively.
Communication
Professional HR communications that strike the right tone for every situation.
Strategy & Development
Strategic HR planning tools for workforce planning, org design, and people analytics.
Policy & Workplace
Policy work is the job people put off longest, because rewriting a handbook section from scratch on a Friday afternoon is nobody's idea of a good time. These tools start from what you already have. Feed in the current policy, the jurisdiction, and who reviews it, and you get back a revision with the decision points flagged rather than a generic template you have to reverse engineer. The investigation tools handle the other half of workplace policy, which is documenting what happened and keeping the trail consistent.
Employer Brand & Culture
The work that usually gets outsourced to an agency or skipped entirely. Write an EVP statement that says something specific, design a culture survey that asks answerable questions, and draft a measured reply to a public employer review instead of firing one off while annoyed.
Learning & Development
Turn policies and company material your team already approved into training people can actually sit through. Assess where the skill gaps are, build the competency model, then design the path and the workshop that closes it. HRStak builds the content. It is not a learning management system and does not track completions for you.
Research & Insights
For the moment a founder or a board asks what is happening in the market and you have a day to answer. Pull an industry trend report or generate a metrics snapshot from your own numbers. If you just need current figures to quote, our monthly HR statistics roundup is free and cites its sources.
How AI Tools Work in HRStak
- Input your context: Each tool asks for relevant details, company name, role, jurisdiction, specific situation. The more context you provide, the better the output.
- AI generates content: Claude by Anthropic (Haiku, Sonnet, or Opus depending on complexity) creates professional, compliance-aware content in seconds.
- Review and customize: Edit the output to match your voice and situation. The AI provides the structure and legal language; you add the company-specific details.
- Export and use: Download as PDF or DOCX. Share with your team, send to employees, or add to your document library.
- 7 language output: Generate documents in English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, Mandarin Chinese, or Japanese.
For the bigger picture, our guide to AI for HR in 2026 covers what it handles day to day and where it falls short. For the hiring side specifically, see how the 13 recruiting tools fit a real hiring cycle. And if the question underneath all of this is what HR software should cost, we broke down what small businesses actually pay.
How This List Is Counted
Tool counts on vendor pages are famously slippery, so here are the rules behind the number 81. It should match what you see after you log in.
- A tool is a structured workflow, not a prompt. To count, it needs its own inputs, its own output format, and its own place in the workspace. A clever prompt you paste into a chat box does not count, no matter how well it works.
- It has to be shipped. Nothing here is on a roadmap or sitting in beta behind a flag.
- Each tool is counted once. The Company Policy Generator writing both a remote work policy and an expenses policy is still one tool, not two.
- Categories follow the job, not the codebase. Ten categories, and a tool lives wherever an HR person would look for it.
- No other vendors are counted or ranked on this page. This is one product's inventory. Cross-vendor comparison belongs in the ranked HR AI tools roundup, which covers ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, and the specialist platforms alongside HRStak.
- The date moves when the product does. Tools added or retired are reflected here. Last update: August 2026.
What This List Does Not Include
Most roundups of AI tools for HR blend in categories HRStak has no part in. Better you know the edges before you evaluate anything.
- No applicant tracking. There is no candidate database, no pipeline, no stage tracking, and no tool that scores or ranks applicants. The hiring tools draft and structure the writing around hiring. They sit alongside an ATS rather than replacing one.
- No payroll, benefits administration, or system of record. No pay runs, no employee data of record, no enrollment.
- No scheduling or shift planning. Rotas, shift swaps, and time and attendance are a different category of software and you should buy them from someone who specializes in it.
- No wellbeing or monitoring products. Nothing here tracks individual employee activity or scores anyone's mental health.
- Onboarding is partial. The workspace drafts onboarding content, surveys, and a Canadian onboarding guide. It does not run task workflows or provisioning. For the process itself, see the new hire onboarding checklist.
One constraint runs through all 81: each produces a draft, a checklist, a framework, or an analysis that a person reviews before it reaches an employee. That is deliberate. Decisions about hiring, discipline, pay, and termination stay with an accountable human, and compliance output is the start of a conversation with a qualified reviewer rather than the end of one.
